Who We Are
Our Mission
Our mission is to advance health equity through the collaborative co-production of research with patient/community partners. We are committed to addressing health disparities by fostering inclusive and equitable partnerships with patients/community partners, especially those from marginalized and underserved communities. By integrating the lived experiences and insights of patient/community partners into every stage of the research process, we aim to generate impactful, patient-centered solutions that improve health outcomes for all.
What We Do
Community-based participatory research (CBPR) is recognized as an effective approach for understanding and addressing health inequities among disadvantaged populations. The Partnership Academy convenes teams of scientists, patient partners, community members, policymakers, caregivers, and payor systems to establish advisory plans, co-produce research agendas, and brainstorm solutions.
- Attendance at a two-day intensive course (8 hours total)
- Formation of partnerships between scientists, patient partners, community members, policymakers, caregivers, and payor systems.
- Monthly learning activities (e.g., seminars, consultation, and online forums) during a 6-month program period
- Grant proposal support
- Access to the Partnership Academy network to engage in group discussions, sharing ideas, and sharing resources to scale and sustain co-produced research.
The Evidence
The Partnership Academy has shown in the scientific literature to show improvements in research engagement as well as the quality of partnership, co-produced output (i.e., collaborative manuscripts and submitted and funded grants), and sustained innovations.
